Minutes of the May 2012 Orange Committee Board Meeting - Corrected

The May 22, 2012, Orange Committee meeting was called to order by the Chair,
Devon Ames, at 8:00 PM, at the William Woollett Aquatics Center, Irvine,
California. In attendance were: Lynda Julson, UN, Review; Patti Haney, SEAL;
Richard Davis, UN, Officials Rep; Keith Kennedy, SCAT; David Prodanovich, FAST;
Judi Divan, MVN, Secretary/Treasurer; Steve Quan, MVN; Bill Voigt, MVN, Coach
Rep; Ken LaMont, NOVA, Senior Rep; Leslie Tomlinson, NOVA; Kim Hoesterey, NOVA,
Program; Devon Ames, STOP, Chair, Ken Russell, AAA, Vice-Chair; Kari Johnson,
SET, Zach Graves, NOVA, Athlete Rep; Mark Tierney, ORCA; Tyson Ormonde, ORCA.

Secretary/Treasurer: April minutes approved.  Treasurer's report: May 1
starting balance of $9520.36; deposits of $490.50; ending balance of $10,010.86.
Age Group Rep: JO assignments have been posted to the SCS website.

Senior Rep: The SCS bid meeting is June 13 at 8 p.m. in Culver City; bids are
due in June 11.  Meet schedule and bid standards are on the SCS website.

There are issues with loading results to SWIMS from HS League meets with one
vendor's software.

Coach Rep: Grand Challenge is very large, 1100+ athletes; there will be 'A' and
'B' flights; no flighting on Sunday.

Officials Rep: Coaches and officials need some education on the new breaststroke
rule.  Basically the first arm stroke begins with the separation of the hands.
A pause after the separation of the hands is not a violation of the rule.

Registration/Meet Ops: There is a need for officials to begin training.

Athlete Rep: CIF at the RAA pool ran fine.  Finals were longer than usual
because of the inclusion of diving.

Review: There have been some teleconferences and a hearing will be scheduled.

Program: The proposed 2013 schedule was discussed and is attached.

Old Business:

New Business: Keith Kennedy introduced himself as the new head coach of San
Clemente Aquatics.  Mark Tierney  from ORCA introduced his new head age group coach,
Tyson Ormonde.

Meeting adjourned at 8:37 p.m.
