Minutes of the March 27, 2012 Orange Committee Meeting
The March 27, 2012 meeting of the Orange Committee was called to order by the Chair, Devon Ames, at 8:05 P.M., at the William Woollett, Jr.Aquatics Center, 4601 Walnut Avenue, Irvine, Ca. In attendance were: Devon Ames, Chair, STOP; Asami Uzawa, NOVA; Tyler Fenwick, MVN; Ken LaMont, Sr. Rep, NOVA; Zach Graves, Athlete Rep, NOVA; Bill Voigt,Coaches’ Rep, MVN; Steve Quan, MVN; David Prodanovich, FAST; Todd Conrad, Age Group Rep, COTO; Mark Tierney, ORCA; Marilyn Bolton, Registration; Lynda Julson, Review; Ken Russell, Vice Chair, AAA;Gina Duncan, OCW; Leslie Tomlinson, NOVA.
Motion to accept the previous month’s minutes, as emailed. Seconded and carried.
Treasurer’s report: Account balance as of March 1, 2012 was $11388.. JO Max host teams need to submit their invoices for awards by April 19, 2012, to Judi Divan, to receive their $1000 reimbursement.
Age Group Representative: A Think Tank meeting will be held on April 7,2012, from 1-5 PM at Rose Bowl. This meeting is open to anyone who is interested.
New Operating Procedures and Policies will be presented at the next meeting.

Report of Occurrence (Accident Report) for USA Swimming: the form may now be filled out on line at the USA-S web site...any serious head injury should be reported to SCS immediately via email or phone. Make sure SCS office is copied on ALL reports.

The Coach Application for NACC is available on the SCS web site and is due by March 30. NACC is in Edmonton, Canada, August 2-4. The SCS team will travel on Tuesday July 31 and return through LAX on Sunday, August 5. Coaches must have a passport valid through August 31.

SCS is hosting an Age Group Planning/Think Tank on Saturday, April 7 at Rose Bowl. Topics will include structure of SCS Age Group meets (June & Winter Invites, JO’s), schedule of age group meets for the next quadrennium and its relation to the Senior schedule, etc. Attendees should include each geographical committee’s age group chair, planning chair, and coach rep. Anyone is welcome. Anyone attending should let Mary Jo know ASAP, as SCS will provide lunch. If you have agenda items, please contact Jay Anderson immediately. Bill Voigt will attend, so if you can’t and have an idea or opinion to express, please get it to him in writing and he will submit it.
Officials: CIF-SS HS Leagues must submit the paperwork and fees for observation status by April 16.

Program:The next Ad Hoc meeting is April 24 at 7 p.m. The FAST July meet will be discussed.
Athlete Representative: Athletes are involved with high school season.
New Business: Admins need to submit all Orange Committee meet information (timeline, timing assigments, coach programs, etc.) that is to be sent out to teams, by Tuesday, prior to the meet. Devon will hold all the information until he has it for all the meets involved, then send a blanket email.
