Coaches must certify each swimmer on their ability to dive.  Keep a record of when they were certified.

Relay Day

Committee took a straw vote and had overwhelming support for relays to be kept in a single day and not spread out over the entire meet for JO’s

Announcements

Out of Committee Swimmers

Out of Committee teams invited to meets must be included on the meet form.  Discussed how to prevent out of committee swimmers from displacing Metro Committee swimmers.  Would like to consider putting language barring Metro Committee displacement on the meet form.

Swimmer Surcharge

Suspension of the 50 cent swimmer surcharge is set to expire at the end of the year.  Request to put item on the Oct agenda for discussion.

Coaches Cert Training

Metro Committee will conduct ARC Safety classes hosted by George Young and SGSG.  Metro Committee will cover the $15 cost for Metro Coaches, Officials, and Board Members. 

Classes will be held at Smith Park Pool in San Gabriel

Timing Positions at Meets

Issue brought up regarding host teams assigning head timing positions during a swim meet instead of lane timing assignments.

Pool Certification

All pools must be certified to host meets in SCS.  Discussion to reimburse clubs for the cost of certification.

Motion: reimburse all clubs scheduled to host meets in 2010 up to $300 after they submit receipts for cost of pool certification. M/S/C
