Irvine Novaquatics Claim Team Title at JOs

With a strong showing by NOVA boys, Irvine Novaquatics took the combined team title at the 2017 Southern California Swimming Junior Olympics held at the Rose Bowl Aquatic Center.  Canyons Aquatics captured the Girls’ title outscoring NOVA 1,311 to 1,207.5, but the NOVA boys dominated the boys’ scoring with 2,310.5 to Canyons at 1,081.5 to win the combined title 3,518 to 2,392.5.  The Aquazots placed third in all three categories (Girls 958.5, Boys 875) with a combined score of 1,833.5.

On the girls’ side fourth place belonged to Brea Aquatics (907) with Golden West Swim Club (726) in fifth and Mission Viejo Nadadores in sixth (712.5).  Boys’ side found Beach Cities in fourth (758), Gators Swim Club in fifth (620.5) and Rose Bowl Aquatics in sixth (529).  Combined fourth place also went to Beach Cities (1,419) trailed by Brea Aquatics in fifth (1,298) and Gators Swim Club in sixth (1.208.5).

Rounding out the top ten for Girls were Westside Aquatics, Beach Cities, Rose Bowl and Gators.  For the Boys seventh through tenth were Golden West Swim Club, Mission Viejo Nadadores, Bluefin Swim Club and Brea Aquatics.  Combined scoring seventh through tenth were Golden West Swim Club, Mission Viejo Nadadores, Rose Bowl Aquatics and SoCal Aquatics.
