Coaches - Urgent Action Needed

Hi SCS Coaches,

This email has two goals. First, we are promoting the inaugural Age Group Elite Championship Meet. Second, we are gathering team data and location preferences for the summer championship swim meets.

What is the Age Group Elite Championship Meet?

·  What: This is a Best on Best, 14 and Under Long Course Championship

·  When: August 3-6, 2023

·  Where: Mission Viejo's Marguerite Aquatics Complex

·  Time Standards: Same qualifying times as the Spring 14-U Age Group Championships (formerly Spring JOs)

·  Timing: Two weeks after Summer Age Group Championships (formerly Summer JOs)

Why is it so very important that you participate in this meet?

·  For over ten years, coaches have been talking about a one site, best on best, long course championship level meet:

o This is a meet that could truly challenge our top age group athletes

o Having best on best opportunities long course at younger ages will help prepare these athlete for high level Senior competitions in the future

·  This meet set-up is filled with choice:

o Swimmers could attend both Summer Age Group Champs and Age Group Elite Champs.

o They could focus on one of those meets while swimming off events at the other.

o They could train through Summer AGC and focus on the Elite Meet.

·  Could provide more opportunities for different swimmers to reach finals in Summer Age Group Champs

·  This is a brand building meet for SCS Age Group Swimming

o Potential to grow into a premier Age Group Meet on the West Coast with interest from other high level teams outside of the LSC

·  The meet will be well run with unique medals

Please READ and COMPLETE the Google Form below as quickly as possible so we can assign teams for the 2023 JAG, Summer Age Group Champs, and plan for the Age Group Elite Meet. The form will close on Tuesday, February 21. We ask each team fill it out once.
