Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Statement

We denounce continued systemic racism and injustice. 

 Southern California Swimming stands for the equality and equity of all. Something has awoken in our society that has shook us to our very core related to the recent events surrounding the Black Lives Matter movement. As your LSC’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Committee, we hope to foster continued conversations and learning that welcome diversity and combat discrimination in all forms.

Occurrences in the recent weeks, played out on the news and within social media have accentuated and called attention to the environment of anxiety, mistrust and outrage in the United States for Black Americans, people of color, marginalized populations and their allies. 

To those who have been marginalized and discriminated against due to race, gender expression, religious beliefs, sexual orientation or backgrounds, WE HEAR YOU and your anguish, WE SEE your pain, your inequality and your cries of feeling UNHEARD. 

SCS DEI Committee and the broader community of Southern California Swimming reaffirm our commitment to the security and well-being of our athletes and membership. We will continue our willingness to create a supportive, safe and equitable environment that will allow all of us to thrive and feel loved. 

We welcome ALL to be a part of the peaceful solution to end these injustices and we stand with #BlackLivesMatter.
