SCS DDEI Camp/Clinic Application

SCS DDEI Committee welcomes athletes ages 12-15 to apply for the fun and motivational 2025 SCS DDEI Camp and Clinic experience on October 25-26! Olympian Cullen Jones will be returning to run a clinic for SCS swimmers. See attached. Reach out to dei@southerncaliforniaswimming.org with any questions.
Fundamental Objectives and Purpose: The purpose of the SCS Disability, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion camp is to create an inclusive atmosphere of motivation and educational opportunities for athletes of underrepresented communities within Southern California Swimming, and to develop the leadership skills necessary to achieve excellence in their sport and their communities.
Athlete Age: Athletes’ birthdays must be between 12-15 years old by the date of the camp; and cannot have attended a National Diversity Camp, Western Zone Diversity Select Camp, or a previous Southern California Diversity and Inclusion Camp.
Qualification Standards: Any USA Swimming registered athlete in Southern California Swimming, who meets the qualification time standards of three or more BB Times in the 12-15y/o age group, or have registered para-athlete times, athletes with disabilities, has not previously attended a DDEI Select Camp, and represents an underrepresented population, ethnic minority, LGBTQ+, or low income, within our sport.
