Senior Assistant Coach
Job Description:
The La Mirada
Armada is seeking an experienced Senior level coach capable of working with our
National group, college swimmers that return home each summer, and our newer
senior swimmers looking to move into the team’s National group. The La Mirada Armada
is a coach-owned, coach-directed team located at the Splash Aquatic Center in
the City of La Mirada.
The Senior coach we are seeking will
direct all aspects of our Pre-National group (Senior 1) and will also be
required to work directly alongside the team’s head coach as the National Group’s
‘Specialty’ coach.
Job Responsibilities:
The Senior Assistant Coach will work
directly with the head coach and be expected to travel often, both during
national competitions and training camps. The coach will be expected to coach 20
hours per week including a minimum of three hours on weekends. In addition, they will need to maintain at
least three office hours each week and attend weekend swim meets as needed.
During the summer months the time commitment will shift to 25 hours per week,
two hours in the morning and two hours in the afternoon, plus three hours on
Saturday and two office hours.
Job Requirements:
At least three (3) years of swim coaching
experience at an established club or college level or have swum 4 years at
Division I college. Have all necessary coaching credentials: Coaches safety
training, CPR, background checks, etc. Provide a resume with a minimum of two
(2) professional references.
Compensation:
The pay will be
commensurate on experience, accomplishments and the extent of the duties
assumed.
