Victory Aquatics-Age Group Coach

Victory Aquatics (Thunderbolts) in San Bernardino, CA is seeking a highly motivated and self-driven candidate for the position of Age Group Coach to work with our beginner to intermediate groups. This position implements, manages, and fosters a USA Swimming Age Group with swimmers 5-17 years old. This position regularly requires the ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays The Thunderbolts operate out of Arrowhead Country Club in San Bernardino, CA year around.

Duties and Responsibilities:

·        Assists with life threatening emergencies;

·        Coaching up to 6 days a week (M – Fri and Saturdays);

·        Attend all Practices and Meets as required ;

·        Must be able to communicate well with swimmers and parents;

·        Applicants must have prior experience coaching beginning level swimmers. Desire and passion for developing swimmers of all ages;

·        Follows and enforces USA Swimming Safe Sport guidelines;

·        Creates and implements an appropriate seasonal and daily workout pursuant with Club guidelines and philosophy for Age Group swimmers;

·        Provides corrective feedback at practice and swim meets;

·        Take active role in Dry-Land program;

·        Tracks and prepares reports, including but not limited to, attendance, swim group performance, and other relevant trends;

·        Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with those connected to Thunderbolts leadership and volunteers, USA Swimming, Southern California Swimming other coaches;

·        Provides customer service to group participants and the general public, including responding to customer inquiries, supplying accurate information, and fulfilling customer needs over the phone, through email, and onsite at aquatic facilities;

·        Accurately and honestly, record and submit a timesheet every two weeks;

·        Follow the guidance and direction of superiors;

·        Assists with planning, coordinating, and implementation of yearly group move-ups.

Qualifications:

·        Current USA Swimming Coach Certifications;

·        At least 5 years of experience in any aquatic organization, preferably coaching or instruction with success at all levels; and/or high-level competitive swimming experience at the club or collegiate level;

·        Expertise with technique development and training;

·        Enthusiastic and highly motivated team player.
