Pleasant Valley Swim Team-Coach

PVST Swim Coach 

Pleasant Valley Swim Team is in search of an energetic, knowledgeable swim coach to work with developmental- and age group-level swimmers. 

Practice times are typically between 4:15 and 6:45pm, Monday through Friday, and are held either at Adolfo Camarillo High School's pool or the Pleasant Valley Aquatic Center. (Both are in Camarillo.) Some Saturday morning practices and/or weekend meets may be expected later on. 

Although not required to apply or begin employment, applicants must be able to complete the following trainings/checks, as outlined in USA Swimming's coaching membership checklist: 

• Foundations of Coaching 101
• Concussion Protocol Training
• Safety Training for Swim Coaches
• CPR/AED certification
• Background check
• Athlete Protection Training
• Maintain a membership in good standing with USA Swimming
• USADA Coach’s Advantage Tutorial

Following a probationary period, the coach will be expected to complete this checklist, and PVST will reimburse them for applicable fees. 

Required qualifications include: 

• Enthusiastic and knowledgeable about competitive swimming
• This can include simply having swum for your high school and/or college or university team(s)
• An eagerness to learn more about competitive swimming as well as coaching developmental- and age group-level swimmers
• Ability to complete the checklist requirements mentioned above in a timely manner
• Availability, as mentioned above

Preferred qualifications include: 

• Prior swim coach experience
• Prior experience working with swimmers of multiple ages and abilities
• Teaching swim lessons, etc.

Compensation is dependent on experience.
