Job Description: 

Socal Aquatics is a nationally competitive swim team of 300+ athletes located in Tustin, Orange County, CA. The team focuses on creating a fun, energized, race paced training environment for all levels from beginner to Jr National, Sr National levels, and Olympic Trials. 

We are seeking an experienced, energized, and passionate coach to lead two of our training groups. These groups each swim for an hour daily, one going directly after the other. As a Lead Group Coach, you will be working hand in hand with the Head Age Group Coach in developing the program for the two groups. The most important quality a candidate can have is engagement during workout time. The candidate must be motivated, enthusiastic, and energetic with the athletes. Pay is commensurate to coaching experience. 

Responsibilities: 

·      Coach children ranging in age from 5-10. 

·      Manage training groups including creation of seasonal competition schedules 

·      Develop training templates, schedules and season plan in collaboration with other age group coaches 

·      8 hours of on deck coaching per week plus participation in average of 1 swim meet per month 

·      Responsible for coordinating participation and submitting meet entries for competition 

·      Foster strong communication with parents, Board, other coaches, and athletes 

·      Perform various administrative tasks relating to the team 
 

Preferred Skills and Qualifications: 

·      5+ years of coaching experience 

·      Member in good standing with USA Swimming 

·      Collegiate swimming experience 

·      Working knowledge of Team Unify 

·      Energetic, dynamic and positive leader 

·      Strong organizational, written and oral communication skills 

·      Enthusiasm for continuing coaching education
