	YST Head Age Group Coach Job Description
Head
Age Group Requirements:
 - Advise and assist YST Head
     Coach in making recommendations concerning professional development
     workshops, seminars, and conventions
- Advise and assist YST Head
     Coach in the development of an annual meet schedule
- Advise and assist YST Head
     Coach on the implementation of the team strategic plan
- Advise and assist YST Head
     Coach in the implementation of an annual business and marketing plan to
     achieve the goals outlined in the strategic plan and to attain higher
     levels of achievement in the USA Swimming club recognition program
- Advise and assist YST Head
     Coach in the development of a comprehensive competitive swim program that
     enhances the team and builds self-esteem and character in all YST swimmers
- Advise and assist YST Head
     Coach in informing members about training standards, schedules,
     competitions, matches, and other team functions 
- Advise and assist YST Head
     Coach in the coordinating and scheduling of YST coaches at all YST
     endorsed USA Swimming meets at which YST is competing
General
Requirements:
 - Head Age Group Coaches should
     be minimum ASCA Level 2 certified. 
- Coaches are to dress and act
     professional anytime they are representing YST
- Swim meet attire: collared
     shirt with slacks, black jeans, khakis. No yoga pants/leggings, gym
     shorts, blue jeans, short shorts, gym shorts, sweatpants. If you are
     unsure, ask head coach
- Practice attire: Team shirt.
     No unsuitable attire ex: political, religious, vulgar, sexual
- If a parent, athlete, or
     possible new member comes on the deck, direct them to the head coach
- Communication with the head
     coach about any days being missed. 2 weeks notice for vacation and 2 hours
     prior to start of practice for day of illness or issues (failure of this
     will result as “no call/no show”)
- Coaches are responsible for
     their certifications and keeping them up to date. If there's an issue,
     notify head coach
- As coaches it is our job to
     insure the athletes are learning and having fun
- As a coach we are not only
     coaching the athlete but the person. Ensure good manners, communication
     skills, time management, respectfulness, and responsibility 
- Coaches will not curse while
     representing YST
- Coaches should be fair and
     equal to all athletes
 - YST coaches will conduct
     themselves in a professional manner that is consistent with the USA
     Swimming Code of Conduct of Non-Athletes and in accordance with standards
     set forth by the Head Coach.
- No coach, team representative,
     or athlete may use profanity or inappropriate gestures or remarks that are
     intended to defame or degrade others.
- YST coaches will not
     discriminate against any current or prospective YST member based on age,
     gender, gender identity, race, religion, or sexual preference
- YST coaches must have a
     membership in USA Swimming and successfully completed all required
     coaching courses (First Aid, CPR, Safety Training, Foundations of
     Coaching, Background Check, etc.)
- Providing an outline detailing
     age-group performance and group progression toward standards bi-annually
     (short-course season, long-course season)
- Assuring that accurate daily
     attendance records for each age group are maintained and submitted 
- Participation in parent
     meetings as directed by the YST Head Coach
- At the direction of the YST
     Head Coach, participating and promoting all YST activities including, but
     not limited to, meets, family fun nights, annual awards banquet,
     fundraising events, public relations with the community, and any other
     events
- All YST coaches will be
     evaluated by the YST Head Coach bi-annually

 - Will be dependent on the coach's experience.
