Position Summary:

Cerritos Aquatic Club is a non-profit USA Swimming club with over 100 kids of ages 5-18. We are a competitive swim club in Southern California Swimming and are in search of hard-working coaches who are interested in developing a competitively balanced athletes with an emphasis on stroke technique, while effectively training, motivating, and supporting swimmers of various skills and abilities. Our team is based out of Cerritos, CA, and we practice in the Cerritos Olympic Swimming and Fitness Center.


Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Working directly with the Head Age Group Coach and/or Head Coach in running and/or assisting practices as needed.

  • Complete all administrative work assigned in a timely manner.

  • Attending Staff Meetings as required.

  • Attending morning or weekend practices as required.

  • Attending swim meets as required— [At least once a month].

  • Completing any and all tasks assigned by supervisors.

​Basic Qualifications:

  • Three years’ experience in coaching competitive swimming, stroke mechanics and drill progressions.

  • Member in good standing with USA Swimming and current AED/CPR certifications.

  • Leadership qualities and being able to motivate while working with different age groups of kids.

  • Be reliable, responsible, knowledgeable about swimming, and coaching children of different ages and backgrounds.

  • Experience in building team culture of unity among swimmers, parents, and staff

Preferred Requirements:

  • Previous competitive swimming background

  • Working with Senior Group Swimmers

  • ASCA Certified Level 1 or above

This is an hourly position with a range between $19-$21/hour, based on experience and qualifications.
