Mt Baldy Aquatics (Pomona College, Claremont, CA)

Part Time, Year-Round Assistant Coach - compensation based on experience level and qualifications with a minimum of $25 per hour.

Job Posting:

Mt. Baldy Aquatics (MBA) is seeking an energetic, engaging, motivated, and knowledgeable Assistant Coach to lead our year-round competitive swim program on the beautiful Pomona College campus. The ideal candidate should provide excellent instruction to swimmers and effective collaboration with other coaches, parents, and volunteers.

Practice times are approximately 1 hour Monday through Thursday between 6 pm and 7 pm. Practices are held at Pendleton Pool on the Pomona College campus in Claremont, CA. Weekend meet schedules vary throughout the year. Potential for additional employment with the Pomona swim program.

Required Qualifications Include:

Must be an active member/coach of USA Swimming, Inc. in good standing or able to become an active member/coach of USA Swimming, Inc. by completing the USA Swimming Coaching Membership Requirements Checklist (https://www.usaswimming.org/docs/default-source/membership/coach-membership-requirements.pdf).
Be enthusiastic and knowledgeable about competitive swimming.
Provide training appropriate for swim club members of varying skill levels.
Foster a nurturing environment for the advancement of each individual member.
Be the secondary coach with the majority of hours spent on deck coaching.
Help grow the club.
Provide an environment that complies with all applicable Club, USA Swimming, and Southern California Swimming regulations, including current Safe Sport policies.
Be engaged with and support all members of the club whether they seek to compete at high levels of swimming or simply enjoy swimming as a recreational sport for exercise and health.
Possess excellent leadership, instructional, and communication skills. Be a self-starter.
Competitive swim or previous coaching experience desired.
Be on time and prepared for every practice.

About Mt. Baldy Aquatics Swim Team:

Mt. Baldy Aquatics is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization under the direction of a parent volunteer board of directors elected annually by the membership. MBA has been in operation since 1975 and routinely has swimmers in the water ranging in age from 7 to 18 years old.

MBA practices at Pendleton Pool, 210 E. 2^nd Street in Claremont, CA, which is on the Pomona College campus and includes a 6-lane, 25-yard competition pool and springboard diving area.
