Swimmers Shine at World Junior Open Water

The 1st FINA World Junior Open Water Swimming Championships were held this past weekend in Ontario, Canada, and Southern California swimmers were very successful.  Jordan Wilimovsky (TSM) grabbed the silver medal in Junior (17-18) Men's 7.5K race; David Heron (MVN) finished 11th.  Brooke Lorentzen (MVN) finished 10th for Junior (17-18) Women's 7.5K race with Liliana Casso (TSM) in 17th.  Brendan Casey (TSM) and Nicholas Norman (MVN finished 5th and 6th in Youth (14-16) Men's 5K.  On the final day, the USA team of Wilimovsky, Heron and Lorentzen finished third in the Junior 3K team event while Norman and Casey swam 2 legs of the fifth place USA team in the Youth 5K.
