Pac Coast All-Star, SCS All Star Festival and Coach application info

Two groups will be selected right after WAGs for January 2019 All Star events:

The 2019 Pacific Coast All Star meet will be held January 5-6, between the All-Stars from Southern California Swimming, Pacific Swimming, Pacific Northwest Swimming, and Oregon Swimming.  The 8 highest scoring swimmers in the 11-12 and 13-14 Age Groups will be selected for this team based on the combined results from competitions ranging from September 1-December 17, 2018. Swimmers selected for this meet are not eligible for the SCS All Star Festival. Applicants should be ranked in the Top 5 of at least two events in Southern California.

Selections will be made based on a "lowball" scoring system for the athletes best 3 events. A top times report will be generated for all applicants using the Pacific Coast All Star events only. If an athlete is ranked 1st in 2 events and third in another, he/she would have a score of 1+1+3=5. This athlete would have a lowball score of 5. The 6 lowest scores in each age group and gender are automatic qualifiers for the team. The 7th and 8th swimmer in each age group will be selected by the coaching staff based on the needs of the team in order to fill out the relays and individual events that need to be covered. Times used for consideration will be from all meets within the qualifying period.

The 2019 Pacific Coast All Star meet will be hosted by Southern California Swimming at the Brenda Villa Aquatic Center in Commerce, CA.  11-14 year old swimmers from Oregon, Pacific, Pacific Northwest and Southern California will compete in the 2 day All-Star quad meet.  

Team fee/co-pay for swimmers is $50 to help off-set Saturday night housing in Commerce, meals, apparel, and pool rent.
