General Chair Report: January 2022
Wednesday, February 2, 2022
Southern
California Swimming,
Continuing
with the monthly board of directors meeting updates, I’m pleased to share the most
recent actions from the board of directors.
The
next regular board meeting is scheduled for February 16th, 2022, at 8:00 pm.
Executive
Director Finalist Open Forum: The executive director search
committee has narrowed the candidates to three finalists. First and foremost, Thank
You to Ceallach Gibbons for her amazing leadership of the ED Search Committee
during this comprehensive search process.
To
make the finalists available for introductions and a Q & A session, we are
holding three separate open forums for the LSC general membership, one for each
of the finalists.
·
Tuesday, February 8th, 8:00 PM
·
Thursday, February 10th, 8:00 PM
·
Thursday, February 17th, 8:00 PM
Please
complete the pre-forum survey
if you would like to participate in the discussion forums with the finalist.
The survey will allow us to determine how many will attend and includes an option
for submitting questions ahead of time. There will also be a separate post-forum
survey to collect feedback following the open forum.
I
encourage you to participate in the forums to learn more about the three
finalists. The much-needed new ED will have a monumental impact on our LSC, particularly
the timeliness and quality of the services we deliver to our members. Forum
links and reminders will be forwarded the day before each of the forum events.
The
New SCS Logo: The board of directors overwhelmingly approved the new SCS logo
created by Matt Lupton from USA Swimming. Thank you to Matt for attending the previous
bod meeting and presenting the process for the development of this fantastic new
logo. Once the usage agreement is complete, we will be able to share the logo with
the general membership. The new SCS logo will also be incorporated into the
design of our new website and social media platforms.
On
behalf of the SCS Board of Directors, I would like to thank you for your ongoing
support!
Mitch Gold
